Mosel, Rheinhessen and Pfalz Germany

Prost is a new project by The German Wine Collection, one of our partner importers. Prost, also the German word for “cheers”, is sourced from respected growers highlighting a representation of location, origin character, and with sustainability in mind. Prost features a feinherb style Riesling from the Mosel, Dry Riesling from Rheinhessen, and Pinot Noir from the Pfalz. Wine for every occasion, but mainly to share and “Prost” with friends and family.

Our Selections

Prost Rheinhessen Riesling Dry 2023

Rheinhessen, the ‘Land of a Thousand Hills’, lies on the left bank of the Rhein River between Mainz, Worms and Bingen. People here are proud of their successful viticulture tradition. Its beginnings go back to the Romans who already planted vines along the banks of the Rhine River.

100% Riesling planted to loess, limestone and loam soils in a mild zone; the region is surrounded by protective hills and forests; in the west: the forested, hilly countryside.

Intense aromas of green apple, peach and apricot. Crisp and elegant with refreshing minerality and a lingering dry finish. Excellent with grilled pork, salmon and white fish. Serve well chilled. 12% alc., 6.1 g/L RS, 6.2 g/L total acidity.

Prost Mosel Riesling Feinherb 2023

The Mosel has a great wine growing tradition of more than 2000 years, brought here by the Romans. It is the home of Riesling and well recognized all over the world. Due to the northern location the climate is relatively cool. But a long ripening period allows the Riesling grapes to develop fine fruity aromas and to ripen to perfection in the late autumn sunshine.

100% Riesling planted on porous slate soils which has ideal drainage for rain and good heat retaining properties.

Deliciously refreshing with aromas of apples and tropical fruits. It is a medium bodied Riesling with the typical crisp, refreshing finish. Enjoy with any light meals, Asian cuisine or as an aperitif. 10.5% alc., 21.1 g/L RS, 7.2 g/L total acidity.

Prost Pfalz Pinot Noir 2023

Bordered by Rheinhessen on the north and France on the south and west, the Pfalz's vineyards sweep across this remarkably pretty, peaceful land for nearly 90 uninterrupted kilometres. Visitors driving through the sea of vines along the German Wine Road, enjoy the tree-covered Haardt mountain range, castle ruins, fruit trees, and old walled villages of half-timbered houses.

100% Pinot Noir from loam mixed with other soil types, such as loess, chalk, clay, colored sandstone and sand. Gently pressed and fermented under temperature controlled conditions, storage in stainless steel tanks until bottling.

This is an easy, open style with luscious dark fruit shining throughout complemented by fine cocoa tannins. Enjoy with pasta and pizza as well as barbecues. Serve slightly chilled at 60F-65F. 13% alc.
